Website comments – Jan 18, 2010 “I learned a lot of useful tips in Level One that I wasn't aware of. For example, I never gave unplugging appliances much thought before. Some of the other suggestions I can use in the future. Level Two does take more money up upfront but when I have more $$ I would like to take out my front lawn and use rocks/sagebrush/native plants that do not require much water. I also don’t let the water run while I’m doing dishes or brushing my teeth anymore.” Patricia M, Dayton, NV "I checked it out and it looks great! Proud to say we do most of the things on there. I will incorporate others! Thanks for the tips!!" Amy D, Sacramento, CA "What a great site, Alexa!! It's very informative, understandable and well-organized! A nice aspect of these tips is that kids also "get it", believe it's important and it translates to environmentally conscious parenting. Thanks for sharing :)" Angela L, Portland, OR “This is great! I just signed up for the DirectMail Do Not Mail list. I learned that when you buy a home, you get put on every list everywhere. I’ve been getting SO MANY catalogues. I have been using a website called HYPERLINK "http://www.catalogchoice.org" www.catalogchoice.org to try to start managing this but it’s been slow to get people to stop sending them. Hopefully the combo of being on the do not mail list and that website will help!” Donna M, San Francisco, CA “About gardening - I know you mention native plants but what about growing your own pesticide free food? You could teach your kids the process of life through gardening. Also, many cities have clean up days where volunteers get together and go clean up trash and improve their community. It's a great website! Good job! I got to Level 3, but that’s where it gets expensive to be green. Also I don't hang out my laundry but I do dry everything back to back. It’s too dusty and windy here to dry my clothes outside!” Faith Z, Reno, NV “I read your website and I like it. It doesn't overwhelm you and it breaks everything down into simple little pieces that make you feel like "wow, living greener is really easy". I wanted to suggest cloth diapers and I don’t see it anywhere on your site. They've come a long way, are easy to use and clean, and have a lot of benefits for baby, environment and budget. I like that you are doing this. Keep it up! Yay earth! Brandy L, Pittsburg, PA “I looked at the site and spent some time on it as well! I did actually try hang dry my cloths this past weekend (I'll do that every other time from now on) But your site looks great it's really simple to navigate and the message is pretty clear. I did have recycled counter tops installed recently and will work on being more conscious everything!” Anthony M, Lake Tahoe, CA “Nicely done! I am thrilled you are doing what you can to help the environment. We need more of you out there. I hope that President Obama's initiatives will speed along this movement.” Sylvia L, Redding, CA |
